Artillery. Note that Nato helped Ukraine over 8 years to build deep dug in positions to fire artillery from, and that Russia chose to take it head on to protect Donbas (rather than leave civilians under fire or have them pulled out which have been declared as a Ukrianian win).
This has made the artillery task extremely challenging, but one that Russia took on with quality, quantity and great planning.

Western media & politicians can talk down the Russian military as much as they want. But any rational person with a little common sense. Will know to do their own in depth research from unbiased sources. Take into account the actual results of real actions. It's obvious after doing so, the Russian military has became the most experienced & powerful military on the planet. There is no comparison at the current time. The military doctrine of the Russian military has implimented improvements at a staggering rate. I salute all involved for their bravery above everything else.
