"In the northeast, the territory of the enrichment plant has been returned to our control."

----------

Please explain exactly what the Selidovo "enrichment plant" in Ukraine mentioned here does?!

My understanding has been that Ukraine did not have any U235 enrichment facilities, is this a different use of "enrichment", an artifact of translation or what???

Colin answered for me. Perhaps I should have used a different word. However, "enrichment doesn't refer to uranium exclusively, not by a long shot.

Thank you both for putting my mind a little more at ease!

In USA mining areas, they might call that facility a "coal preparation plant" (CPP) or a "coal washer".

It will be for coal, not so much enrichment, but for "cleaning" and grading of coal.

@Colin Dickson

Thank you!

For some reason, any hint of Ukraine having fissile materials or technology for production related to these gets my attention these days, can't imagine why?

Yeah, I know what you mean. But also, we should not be surprised, Zelensky was harping on about nukes back before the SMO, I imagine that back then only the Kremlin took him seriously, it should have however, raised alarms and red flags everywhere. At this stage I sincerely believe that if Ukraine got Nuclear munitions... they would use them.

Thanks Marat. You put to shame these podcasters and bloggers who rely on drone footage from Ukrainian sources to confuse us about the progress of the SMO. Why rely on Ukrainian and western disinformation to provide an accurate account of the war?
