New York and Kupyansk: stages of a long journey The lion is getting ready to pounce!
Large front-line report on July 9-15, 2024 from military correspondent Marat Khairullin (text version)
In the Liptsovsky sector of the Kharkov direction, the Russian Armed Forces continue to defend in the settlement of Glubokoe. The enemy is transferring detachments of former prisoners to this settlement and concentrating forces in holiday villages on the shore of the reservoir. Near the village itself, dill plants (AFU) hold farms.
Ours, using drones, track the enemy’s movements and strike at them. Artillery and aviation are constantly at work. They find the temporary deployment points with equipment and destroy them.
In the village of Velikie Prohody, a FAB-3000 arrived at the temporary deployment point for the AFU, significantly reducing their number in that area, and in the dacha area we use bombs of lower power, but in large volumes.
In Volchansk, the territory of the aggregate plant came under the control of the RF Armed Forces. In the area of high-rise buildings (Citadel), in the basements of which the enemy has settled, fierce battles are taking place. Our fighters have advanced a little to the east here.
The streets adjacent to the forest in the bend of the river are protected from the enemy, and in the area of the bridges, our separate detachments operate in the southern part of the city in the areas of the Volchansky technical school and the oil factory.
To the east of the aggregate plant, our fighters are conducting active military operations in the area of Gurkanovskaya Street, which goes across the river across the bridge, but in this area, our units did not cross the river, as some channels wrote, but were clearing the enemy from the territory in the northern part.
In the eastern part of Volchansk, fighting is raging in the area of Osipenko and M. Starochudsky streets. Our units have improved their positions in the chalk quarry area, expanding control there, returning positions that were able to squeeze out the Ukrops a few weeks ago.
We knocked out the enemy from Stepovaya and M. Katsubinsky streets, where the AFU was trying to bypass our positions in the chalk quarry, covering the city from the east, and not allowing the Ukrainians to bring in reinforcements from Tikhoe.
However, even in Tikhoe, they were unable to concentrate their forces, which thanks to the efforts of our Aerospace Forces.
In Volchansk, the number of attempts to transfer reinforcements across the Volchya River has noticeably decreased after the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost a lot of equipment involved in establishing crossings. Now they are regrouping and forming consolidated units from the remnants of the 71st Special Infantry Brigade and the 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade.
The enemy tried to counterattack in the Staritsa area, where they tried to establish a crossing, which ours eventually destroyed.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now trying to accumulate forces in the forest area in the Sinelnikovo area. Our Aerospace Forces worked with FABs in this area, helping the “Severyans” (North Group) expand the bridgehead on the left bank of the Seversky Donets.
The destruction of enemy equipment and personnel in the rear is also underway. Howitzers, tanks, electronic warfare stations, vehicles carrying ammunition, and other objects are identified and destroyed. Near Kharkov, in the area of Budy, a train with equipment, ammunition and personnel was destroyed.
In the Kupyansky direction, in the Sinkovka area, the Russian Armed Forces advanced along forest belts in several areas south of the village of Olshana. FABs are striking at the concentration of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern part of Sinkovka and in the forest to the west.
The Petropavlovka-Sinkovka road, which the enemy uses for logistics, is being mined remotely by our drone pilots.
Over the course of a week, the Russian Armed Forces systematically destroyed logistics in this entire area.
The Kruglyakovka-Glushkovka highway, leading from the crossing point to Senkovo, was attacked by FABs, and the crossings in Kupyansk-Uzlovoy were destroyed. The crossing over the Oskol river in Kupyansk was attacked after we received information about the accumulation of equipment in the city.
In the city itself, attacks were carried out both on Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities and on a railway crossing in the eastern part of the city.
In Petropavlovka, crossings across the Gnilitsa River were destroyed.
Active hostilities are underway in the area of the settlements Peschanoye, Stelmakhovka, Myasozharovka, and Rozovka.
In the Svatovsky sector, units of our army took control of the southern part of Makeyevka, simultaneously securing a bridgehead on the bank of the Zherebets River north of it and moving southeast of it along the ravine.
In the Seversky direction, the Russian army advanced east of Razdolovka to the north, reaching heights, which increased pressure on Perezdnoye, in which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are basing forces to repel our offensive here.
We advanced to the village of Fedorovka and expanded control in the direction of Vyemka, knocking out the enemy there from several forest belts east of the railway.
Attacks are being carried out on AFU facilities in Seversk, in the Serebryanka and Grigorovka areas.
In Chasov Yar, the fighters of our units continue to consolidate their positions in the Kanal district and drive the enemy out of the Orlova tract in order to establish full control along the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, and not only to the north of the city, but also to the south. Also, this week, our units advanced west of Kleshcheevka, knocking out the enemy from positions in a small forest area.
In the Toretsky section of the Donetsk direction, the liberation of settlements continues. In Yuzhny (Pivdenny), our fighters took control of almost its entire territory and reached the village of Artemovo (Zaliznoye) towards the waste heap of the mine named after Artemovsk. It must be said that, most likely, it is on the line of waste heaps of this mine and the Severnaya mine, as well as the area of high-rise buildings in the south of Toretsk, that the AFU defense line will now be built.
Fighting is taking place in high-rise buildings in the south of Kirovo (Pivnichnoe), where ours have advanced along Novi St. to the northern part of the block.
They are pushing through the enemy’s defenses along the forest area, to the north of the dump, where a system of strong points is equipped, also storming from the side of the village of Shumy. Strikes are also delivered to the forest itself, under the cover of whose trees the enemy moves.
In the north-eastern part of Kirovo, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing along Kalinova street and in the buildings to the south of it.
North of the railway, our army is advancing to the village of Druzhba, knocking out the enemy from Dzerzhinsky and Peter the Great streets in the eastern part of the village.
In the settlement of Novgorodskoye (New York), fighting is taking place in the central part of the village: our fighters have entrenched themselves in the Petrovskaya Gora quarter, where they have taken control of most of the high-rise buildings and a number of private streets.
Behind this block, there is a road to the village of Sukhaya Balka, which is an important logistics route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Our offensive is actively supported from the air. Aircraft are striking industrial areas adjacent to the phenol plant, the territory of a machine-building plant, and the area of the railway station.
From the southern part of the village, our units are moving towards the heights located to the west, and over the past week, they have significantly expanded their control there.
Probably the biggest changes on the map occurred this week in the Pokrovsky sector of the Donetsk direction, where the enemy’s defenses almost completely collapsed, and there were reports that brigades were leaving positions.
In the Novoaleksandrovka area, the Russian Armed Forces expanded control to the north, and also approached a strong point located in front of the village of Vozdvizhenka in the area of the farms, and cut the road to Baranovka. We advanced to Lozovatsky. Along the railway and to the south, we almost reached Progress, which was a little more than half a kilometer away.
In Evgenovka, the soldiers of our army knocked out the enemy from the central part of the village and completely liberated the village of Voskhod, after which they occupied all the fields to the south of it, knocking out the AFU from there and began to liberate the village of Novoselovka Pervaya.
To the north of this village there was a company stronghold “Kotenok” ("kitten" named after its shape), which was part of the so-called “Poroshenko Line” and for which the Ukrops had great hopes. Ours cleared it out within a few days. Having prepared a bridgehead, our fighters entered the village and secured themselves in a school building in the center of the northern part of Novoselovka. And then they approached from the east and southeast, entered the eastern part of the headquarters, and then began to storm the southern part of the village.
The enemy deployed additional forces, since Novoselovka Pervaya is the most important fortified area in front of Selidovo. In the area, both sides use various types of weapons in huge quantities. Aviation is constantly involved on our part.
Now our guys control up to half of the village, both in its northern and southern parts.
Strikes are being carried out both along logistics routes and rear areas. Our drone pilots are already working in the Novogrodovka area, destroying enemy vehicles there. Aviation strikes at Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities in Selidovo and Grodovka.
This same week, our Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the village of Yasnobrodovka, in the area of which hostilities continue, as well as in the area of the Karlovskoye Reservoir.
In Krasnogorovka, the Russian Armed Forces made significant progress in the eastern part of the city, completely taking control of the area of high-rise buildings and the private sector to the north of them. The central hospital also came under the control of our units, and in the northern part of the city, they moved west almost to Tsentralniy Park.
The AFU are gradually retreating to the only possible escape routes from the city in its northwestern part and, as they themselves admit, soon the only possible way out of the city will be by water.
The situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is aggravated by problems in the supply of ammunition, food, and, most critically, water. As a result, infectious diseases are now breaking out among personnel.
In Krasnogorovka, only a small part [of the settlement] remains under the control of Ukrops (not counting the areas of streets beyond the river and the area of streets running west of the main part of the city), so the Ukrops have no hope of retaining it.
Therefore, they are just trying to somehow delay our advance here on the next line of defense.
In the South Donetsk direction, units from the 36th Army units, together with units of the 40th Infantry Brigade, liberated Urozhainoe. Our fighters first made their way to the central part of the village, where they planted a flag on one of the buildings, and then, after massive artillery preparation and with the support of 30th artillery brigade, assault troops on motorcycles and armored vehicles took strongholds and fortifications in houses and knocked out the AFU (those who were lucky enough to survive) from the populated area.
Now, final cleanup and demining is underway in Urozhainoe.
The capture of Urozhayny was facilitated by the advance of our units from Staromayorsky towards Makarovka and the taking under fire control of the road from Urozhainoe to it, significantly complicating the transfer of reinforcements and ammunition for the enemy.
The Russian Armed Forces are actively striking along the entire logistics chain in this direction: targets in Blagodatny, Storozhevoy, Neskuchny, and Velikaya Novoselovka are destroyed.
The Russian Aerospace Forces are working on targets in Bogatyr and Constantinople (Northeast of Velykaya Novoselka). AFU facilities in the Prechistovka area are constantly being destroyed.
Thanks, good luck to the men
Thank you for such a detailed report; May our Heavenly Father bless and protect you and the Russian people.
