Brief report from the front, August 18, 2024

In the Svatovsky section of the Kupyansk direction, our armed forces advanced into the northern part of the settlement of Makeyevka, and also expanded control north of the settlement.

In the Toretsk section of the Donetsk direction, one of the most important fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Severnaya mine waste heap in the village of Kirovo (Pivnichnoye), came under the control of our armed forces. This is the dominant height in this section. The difference in height with the "citadel" - the area of ​​high-rise buildings in Toretsk to the west of the waste heap - is about 60 meters. The clearing of the forest area behind this waste heap continues. About half of its territory is under the control of our units.

The Russian Armed Forces have already begun an assault on Toretsk itself, using armored vehicles.

In the Pokrovsky section of the Donetsk direction, the Armed Forces of The Russian Federation has liberated the settlement of Sviridonovka, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, and our fighters continue to break through the enemy's defenses and expand their zone of control.

After the liberation of the settlement of Zhelannoye, our units advanced to the settlement of Novozhelannoye and, having taken it under control, entered the settlement of Zavetnoye. Our armed forces also advanced towards the settlement of Kamyshevka. At the same time, the company stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, covering the crossing over the Volchya River, came under the control of our soldiers.

On the left (eastern) bank of the Volchya River, the Russian Armed Forces entered the settlement of Mezhevoye, and now, information is coming in that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are leaving the territory on the left bank, withdrawing their units so that they do not fall into a trap behind a water barrier.

Our troops are also advancing in the area of ​​Novogrodovka. The enemy was driven out of Nikolaevka, and from there, our units reached the waste heap between Marinovka and Mikhailovka, thus advancing to Selidovo. To the north of Novogrodovka, fighting is taking place in Krutoy Yar.

In the South Donbass direction, our armed forces went beyond the 0532 route in the direction of the settlement of Vodyanoye in the area of ​​the Ikryanaya gully, and to the south, an important enemy fortification was taken – the ventilation shaft of the Yuzhnodonbasskaya No. 1 mine.
