Brief report from the front, August 16, 2024

In the Toretsk section of the Donetsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces took control of the settlement of Artemovo (Zaliznoye/Zheleznoye), approaching Toretsk between the Artem mine waste heap and the territory of the Central substation, from which the enemy was also driven out, and clearing of forest areas between the waste heaps of the Artema and Novaya mines, as well as southwest of the Severnaya mine, is underway.

The capture of the Central substation opens the way to the settlement of Nelepovka, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now retreating from the settlement of Novgorodskoye (New York), where the fighters of our units managed to drive the enemy out of most of the settlement. The main fortified area - the territory of the phenol plant - has been taken by our forces in a semi-envelopment. The enemy has a real chance of being completely surrounded there if he does not decide to retreat from there as well.

West of Novgorod, units of the Russian Armed Forces have reached the road to the settlement of Sukhaya Balka, in the area of ​​which active destruction of Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities is underway.

In the Pokrovsky area, our armed forces completely liberated the settlement of Ivanovka, which was now officially announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Our units have taken control of the Novotoretskoye tract. In the settlement of Grodovka, our soldiers are confidently pushing the enemy back to the center.

Our armed forces have advanced along the railway in the direction of the settlement of Selidovo, taking control of the settlements of Orlovka, Zhuravka, and Nikolaevka, and the advance detachments are already working in the area of ​​the settlement of Novogrodovka.

We have also achieved success in other areas.

In the Liptsevsky section of the Kharkov direction, our soldiers established control over the plantings west of the settlement of Glubokoe between it and the reservoir.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Armed Forces continue to expand control north of the village of Peschanoye, breaking through to the commanding heights.

In Krasnogorovka, our fighters are making progress in the northern part of the city, where they are now beyond the Lozovaya River, and they are continuing to push the enemy in the area of ​​the western streets (this is the former Lenin State Farm).
